This is my second custom Carl Strong bicycle. Built for a 6’6″, 235lb rider, this commuter/light tourer sees action every day commuting in the DC metro area. Custom fork required to fit the 27cm head tube that also allows for wide tires and full fenders. Built up with a mix of Campagnolo Chorus and Centaur, Prorace bars, stem, and post, Brooks B-17 saddle, and bomb-proof Velocity Dyads with a 40-spoke rear. This bike holds up under 700-800 miles per month of serious abuse.

The frame is stiff, but feels even better once loaded down. It’s incredibly stable. I can ride no-handed with 35lbs in the panniers. It is also a great long hauler having ridden several 100 mile jaunts on it. I did an overnight camping trip with it, loaded down with about 40lbs of gear. About 120 miles each way and never felt uncomfortable on the bike.

Truly a once-in-a-lifetime kind of bike. Carl builds bicycles that exceed your expectations.
