So this is a little different than most of the stuff that comes out of my fixture. It’s a carbon cross frame. We’ll be making quite a few of these for testing. They’ll be ridden by Jared, me, Erik and Bill. We want to see how our different laminate schedules actually feel on the road…or trail or wherever we end up riding them. We want to make sure the seat of our pants is consistent with our expectations. You can engineer things until you’re blue in the face but ultimately you need to ride it to understand it at a more subjective level. On the first handful of frames we’ll be focused on how the different joint laminate schedules we’ve designed will influence perceived front triangle stiffness. Ideally, they’ll do exactly what we expect them to do, let’s hope we’re right.
