Today I’m finishing up a geared titanium 29er for Ross. It’s a race bike that will be used for cross country and endurance races. It’s light and durable and will be a lot of fun to ride. It’s been a couple months since I built a titanium MTB and I forgot how much goes into getting the stays bent and all the clearance issues worked out. This frame also has a very short headtube and required a lot of relief on the toptube to make everything work. Today I’ll put on all the small parts and a chin gusset to back up the bottom of the headtube and then we’ll be ready to machine and blast.
