Strong Frames has been many things in the past fourteen years. I started building in the back of my grandmother’s garage. Over the years as demand for my frames grew so did my shop and eventually a small staff of people. At the height of it all I was building 1000 frames per year, some with my name and some for other brands. I also ran a small bike shop and managed the staff. All of this was very satisfying in a lot of ways but without even knowing it I had morphed from a frame builder to the manager of a small, high-end bike manufacture. While from the outside this may appear to be a good thing, my own personal needs weren’t being met. My passion is framebuilding and the managing has always been a necessary component to business but it was just getting out of hand so I made some changes.

Now Strong Frames is me, Carl Strong along with the help of my supporting wife Loretta. I am once again a framebuilder/craftsman and I couldn’t be happier. I can now offer you the knowledge, experience and craftsmanship that’s gained through the process of building many thousands of high-end frames, along with the individual personal service of a small builder.
