Just a quick update. I’ve ridden this bike enough to closely bond with it, but I took a brief vacation from it this last summer as I rode my rigid single speed almost exclusively. I’ve decided to change a few things: I’ve changed the rotors out to 6″ from the initial build with 8″ rotors; added a spider and some more 29er friendly gears to the XTR crankset; went with a layback Thomson post and a riser bar; added a new Brooks Team Professional saddle, and added Specialized FastTrak and Resolution tires converted tubeless. Well, it’s second honeymoon time. I’m already looking forward to racing next year’s Butte 100 and York 38 Special events on it. Thanks again Carl, your phenomenal reputation is well deserved.
