Chris N. build

December 20th, 2012

The first frame out of the new shop. For Chris N. a local who won it at a raffle for the Gallatin Valley Land Trust which we sponsor along with Intrinsik Archetecture (they designed our new shop) and others each year in support of the local trail system.

Up and Running!

December 17th, 2012

Yea, it’s finished! I can’t believe it but we’re finally done building the shop and all moved in. We have a little detail work to do but practically speaking we are fully operational. I’m glad to get back to my routine. From this point , I have my office and shop in the same location and all design and building will occur on schedule.

The new shop is everything we’d hope for. We don’t have the stylish glass walls the other did and it’s less space but overall it’s a far superior space. The heat and insulation are highly efficient.  Ceilings are lower for better light and also make it feel nice and cozy.  But the main improvement is first and foremost, NO COMMUTE!. We’ve also done some really nice landscaping, including a small stream feeding into a pond and a covered area outside our doors with an assembly work station for the warm times of the year. We also completely fenced the yard so the dogs can run around all day.

Here are a few pictures of the inside. There is a little mess here and there but that will all be gone by the end of the day. I’ll post photos of the grounds this spring once everything is in bloom.

Move-in week

December 10th, 2012

This week we’ll spend moving and next week setting up. After that we should be back up and running and focused on building. Until then we will be slow to answer calls and email but will do our best. Thanks for your patients.

Done!

December 7th, 2012

So it looks like the new shop is finally done. Today is cleanup and final inspection. If we get our certificate of occupancy (COA) we will start moving in this weekend. Cross your fingers.
