I was recently introduced to a couple of places on the web that I thought were a lot of fun and thought I’d share them. I may be late to the party and everyone may already know about them but I thought I’d post them anyway.
The first I found because my mom gave me a book for my B-day called the Bike Snob. It’ s fun read, it’s really funny and it will make you feel not quite so alone if you are a complete bike geek. He also has a blog: http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/
The other was sent to me the other day and it’s called Velominati which is full of great classic cycling images and a deep reservoir of great content. It’s also a very good looking and well designed site. My favorite section is The Rules. They are both funny and true. Maybe a little insight to why roadies are considered snobs. If you want to be proper roadie this is a great place to start

I have this book and love it too. It just confirms to others, if they had any doubt, that I am a true bike geek. I just let them click through a couple of pages and they say…”jeez, that is you”….It makes me smile. Do I get a medal now that I am a confirmed bike geek?
Sorry Russell, I don’t have any medals. But you do get he satisfaction of knowing that you’re not alone
Damn, 87 rules by Velominati!?! Fortunately a bunch of these come second nature to me, otherwise I would feel like I need to hang up the bike for 3 months to study up before riding next time. I particularly like rule #5… the phrase H.T.F.U. will be a great motivator when doing a hard ride.
