Big two niner

October 25th, 2011

Here is John’s titanium geared 29er hardtail. It’s a big boy and really came out nicely. I’m starting another 29er today in steel. Then on Thursday I start Tim’s titanium road frame with internal Di2 wiring and next week is dedicated to Jim’s carbon fiber road frame. After that I have a streak of about 12 titanium frames in a row.

Ti Cross and a funny Video

October 21st, 2011

Here is Ben’s titanium cross frame. It took a while to get the headtube but Ben was very patient (thanks Ben) and it finally went out yesterday. It’s ultimately going to be painted but he’ll race it for the rest of the season and send it back for paint after.

Also, here is a pretty funny video. It might be more funny to me because I live in Montana and I’m always amazed at what so many people think about this place. It’s pretty close to the truth.

Did I do something wrong?

October 20th, 2011

I started building Rob’s steel road frame (below) and something seemed sort of weird. Didn’t I cut the downtube on the last frame exactly the same length and angle? Wasn’t the jig setting for the last frame exactly the same as this? Oh no, am I building off of the wrong blueprint?…nope, the name is correct. I better go grab the file from the last frame. What do you know, the last two frames in a row I built are nearly identical. With the exception of 4mm in headtube  length both frames are the same.  That’s a first.

From steel to titanium

October 19th, 2011

I finally got the titanium InSet headtubes I’ve been waiting for. While I was waiting for them I skipped ahead and got three steel frames done, one of which I posted last week, Norman’s which is below and Rob’s which I’ll post tomorrow. Now I have three titanium frames to do. Ben’s which I hope to finish today, John’s which is a 29er MTB and Tim’s which is a road frame that will have internal wiring for Di2.

Kirk’s Custom Blend Steel

October 14th, 2011

Here is Kirk’s build. It’ s a Custom Blend steel road frame setup for long reach calipers. It’s going to paint today.

Also Ben and John, your Headtubes have finally shipped so I’ll have them next week and will get to work on both your frames once they land.
