2011 NAHBS

NAHBS Set up Day

February 24th, 2011

We made it! We’re in the beautiful town of Austin TX. When we left Bozeman it was 8 degrees with an expected low Friday night of -14. We got to Austin and it was 77 and they expect it to be about this warm the entire time we’ll be here. A nice break from the cold MT weather. We setup today at 2:00 and I’m really looking forward to it. Setup is a lot of fun because it gives all us builders a chance to hang out before the show opens and help each other in any way we can. There is a lot of excitement and camaraderie.

When I got here I learned there is free Internet and was glad I was going to be able to report about all the happenings here on my blog. Unfortunately I forgot my USB cable for my camera so unless I can find another I may not be able to post pictures. I’ll do what I can to run one down. Hopefully  Nick Crumpton will have one laying around the house. If so you can expect daily updates of the show and surrounding activities complete with pictures. If not I’ll wait until I get home and post them all then. The image attached is a stock photo I pulled from the net just so I’d have something.

NAHBS Schedule

February 17th, 2011

Loretta and I will be leaving for NAHBS next Wed. We will be in the shop until then but won’t be building frames after tomorrow. If you need to get in contact with us we will be available until we leave. We will be out of the shop from the 23rd through the 2nd after which we’ll resume our normal schedule. While we are in Austin we will not be available by phone or email. We looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible so please stop by the booth and say hi. It’s gong to be a great show and we’re very excited.

Just so there are some picture in this post I thought I’d includes John’s new titanium 29er MTB. I wish it were mine.

NAHBS Steel Bike For Sale

February 11th, 2011

I wrote in an earlier blog that I like to build my own show bikes vs. use customer bikes because it allows me full control over the bike. I get to pick the parts, colors, size, etc. The one caveat is that I tie a bunch of money up in bikes. So I like to sell them as quickly as I can. If you buy one you can either pick it up in Austin after the show or we will ship it to you once we return home. They are being discounted because they are not custom and you do not get to make any choices on color, parts, size, etc. The one exception I will make, is that the two bikes with the Enve wheels can be purchased either without the wheels or with a less expensive set of wheels.

Regular Price

$1850 Extralite Steel Frame:

$350 Custom Paint

$480 Enve 2.0 Fork

$150 Custom Paint Fork

$3556 Custom Sram Force Build Kit:

  • Enve 45 Carbon Clinchers

$ 6386 Total Retail Price

Show Pricing:

Bike $4790

Bike without wheels $3320
