Aesthetically I'm not a big fan of carbon bikes, 5000 dollars are for sure a big expense, but apart from some concerns about their robustness, composite materials have great qualities, the best performances, are the present of the bike market and they'll improve more and more in the future because of big research investiments on them. Seeing a "metal" builder going, partially, to carbon can produce some head shaking in the more conservative buyers, but in my opinion a builder with attention to modern technologies can also guarantee a modern approach to traditional materials.
