Sale frame and Gallery

September 22nd, 2009

The Owners Gallery is up http://www.strongframes.com/ownersgallery/. It’ s now searchable by frame type and material. I tested it and it seems to work fine but if anyone notices any bugs, let me know. Also if you are a Strong frame owner I would love to add your frame and comments. If you would like to include yours, just email a few images along with your thoughts and I’ll post them.

I also wanted to point out to anyone that hadn’t noticed last weeks post, I have a lightly used titanium Cyclocross frame for sale. You can see the details here: http://www.strongframes.com/more_stuff/proshop/. I’ve had quite a bit off interest but no buyers yet. It’s a great price, just in time for the race season.

Owners Gallery

September 21st, 2009

The most visited area in my site, other than my blog, is the “Owners Gallery”. It has not yet been made live on the new site. Todd built a new utility to put it in and I’m currently reloading all the data. I’m about half way through the job and should have it up and running by tomorrow if everything goes well.

If you are a Strong Frames customer and haven’t already sent material for the gallery, I would love to have images of your bike in it’s natural environment and some words about it and/or your ordering experience. I’m not looking for super slick pro images or a bunch of great copy. Just some easy shots of the bike and a couple sentences about it and your experience buying it. You can send them directly to me at strong@strongframes.com.

One of those weeks

September 18th, 2009

Every now and then I have a week in which little things seem to eat up all my time. I’m looking at my board and while I worked like crazy all week, nothing seems to be done. I have two major priorities right now. They are to get Dominic and Tom’s bikes out the door. Both should have gone last week but due to one little thing or another both are still here. Dominic’s frame still needs to have the BB machined. The tool showed up but now I have to make an adapter for my handles to get it to work properly. In the mean time Tom P’s frame is sitting in the fixture just about ready to finish up. So the plan is to finally get Dominic’s BB reamed and installed and his Headset installed and fork cut today, then I should be able to ship Monday. Once his bike is in a box, I’ll move back to Tom, which should ship Tuesday. Then I have three frames back from paint which will be prepped and two will be assembled, they will ship next week. Lots of stuff is going out the door next week and that’s a good thing.

Just in time…

More titanium

September 16th, 2009

Below are pictures of Dominic’s butted titanium frame. It’s pretty much done except for a little bit of machining and the satin finish. After that I have four more titanium frames in a row. Seems frame material comes in waves. I’ve been building lots of ti lately. Soon I’ll be off to steel again. I don’t really have a preference and the variety keeps things interesting. I like both material and think each have their place depending on customer priorities.
