Hitting the Road!

February 24th, 2009

So Loretta and I will be leaving for NAHBS tomorrow morning. We’ll be out of the shop from Wed 2/25 through 3/2 and back to work first thing on the 3rd. I’ll be updating my Blog from the show so you can all see what ’s gong on.  I hope to get around to all my vendor booths so I can see what new and exciting and will also post images of cool bikes and any social activities I attend. I hope to see some of you there so be sure to stop by the boot and say hello!

Last task before hitting the road is shipping Oumar’s frame. It is a beautiful white road frame with King Ano Blue custom graphics and a ghost panel. Very classy frame.

More finished work going out.

February 20th, 2009

So Loretta, Dave and I along with my right hand man Erik got everything boxed up and out t he door. So with that behind us we can start building frames and getting them out the door. John F’s Johnny Cashcycle is done and will be shipped today. Loretta took a really nice picture of it below. I also finished up Tom P’s titanium cyclocross frame which will display at NAHBS next weekend. Also the red bike pictured below will be displayed at NAHBS. Finally, going out today is Craig S of WA’s cross frame along with an Edge Composites cross fork. Craig’s bike is painted to match his team jersey and features S-bend chain and seat stays.

Shipping This Week

February 17th, 2009

Amidst the chaos of the getting ready for the show we also have official business to take care of. Here are a couple complete customer bikes that will be going out the door in the next couple of days. The black MTB has been dubbed the “Johnny Cashcycle” by owner John F. of Australia. It’s a 29er SS outfitted with all black including a custom painted F29. The other is a Trifecta owned by Rich B. of NY that was shown in an earlier blog as a frame only. We’ve assembled it with Dura Ace 7900 and some very nice DT wheels.

More Show Bikes

February 16th, 2009

Time is growing near. I need to have everything that’s shipping boxed up and out by Wed. Dave Kirk and I combine our efforts wherever possible so we’ll be shipping all our product and displays together. Today we’ll finish packing and inventory what we have and need. Hopefully all goes well and it gets out the door on time. that gives us a week to relax and get ready for the show.

Show Bikes for Sale

I’ve got two more un-owned show bikes for sale to anyone that is interested. They will be shipped to their buyer right after the show.

The first is a painted titanium road frame. It’s a stage race frame built with 3/2.5 grade 9 CWSR titanium. It’s built to produce medium stiffness for a rider in the 170 – 190 pound range. It also has the new Chris King InSet headset. The normal price would be:

Frame $2800
Paint $650
Headtube Badge $200
Headset (InSet) $130
Total $3780

Sale Price $3000

The Next frame that’s for sale is a steel 29er MTB geared frame built around a Fox F29 100. The frame will show unpainted. Today there are a lot of new builders entering the framebuilding business that are very inexperienced and honestly not that good. It’s easy to paint over poor craftsmanship or spend hours filing and sanding off your mistakes. I thought I’d display a frame that represents my work before it had had any finishing done at all. Once the show is over I’ll send the frame to Spectrum to be painted in whichever stock color the buyer chooses. Normal frame price:

$1650

Sale Price $1350

Having Fun!

February 13th, 2009

We’re getting close to show time. While getting everything ready for the show, packed up and shipped on time is a bit hard on the nerves, it’s a lot of fun too. I’m moving along on Tom P’s frame and it should be done and ready tomorrow. We’re also assembling Rich B’s frame now and getting it ready to ship to him in NY. It has the new Dura Ace 7900. This is the first 7900 build we’ve done so we’re geeking out on all the changes. I get my main show bike back today and the parts for it have been trickling in. All in all things are moving along and we’re looking forward to a great show.
